Biography

Elfie Höbarth was born in Vienna and studied singing at the Vienna Conservatory and at the Hochschule für Musik. She made her debut at the Vienna State Opera with the Queen of the Night and was soon in demand for the roles of Blonde, Adele, Sophie, Susanna, Tebaldo, Flowermaiden, Naiade, Zerbinetta and the Fiakermilli. She has appeared at the Scala in Milan as well as in all the major opera houses of Germany: Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Berlin, Komische Oper, Dresden, Leipzig, the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Essen, Cologne, Hamburg, Hanover and the Bayreuth Festival.
